Hello! I’m Patty
I have spent the last 30 years working with children, youth and their caregivers providing Mental Health treatment for a wide range of challenges facing families today. Whether it is proactively building resilience, providing age appropriate psycho-education or teaching behaviour management skills and coping strategies, I have experience with trauma, school related difficulties, emotion regulation, anger management, self-esteem, LGBTQ guidance, crisis and safety planning. I encourage an open mind and a genuine desire to explore one’s self to find strength and insight and move it forward on their personal journey.
Over my career, I have been fortunate to have received a vast range of clinical training, which is evidence and strength based. My experiences include working closely with our Boards of Education, as well as collaborating with community service providers to deliver mental health treatment.
My Approach & Values
In addition to creating a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space, I value above all, the therapeutic relationship that is created within this space. It is within that space, I believe, that trust begins to grow, and change begins to happen. My approach is genuine and transparent, and I understand and accept the responsibility of delivering services that are keeping with the belief that with support, anyone is capable of personal growth, change and healing.
Treatment offered is evidence informed and in keeping with the standards laid out by the College of Registered Psychotherapists. My practice affirms the client’s basic human dignity and worth and encourages independence and competency building, improving client resilience and decision making abilities.
I love to have fun. I love to bring a sense of humour to the subject of mental health and well-being. I work hard to engage all ages of family members and will be fair and honest about the work that is to be done. Together, we can carve out a plan that helps to bring your Insight Out!
